Dr. Kekai Namauu Joins San Antonio Business Leaders for Conversation on AI and Cybersecurity
San Antonio, TX — On October 21, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted its Small Business Series Breakfast, presented by Bank of America, bringing together local business leaders for an energizing discussion on “Locking the Future: Why Data Security is the Key to Trustworthy AI Adoption.”

The morning event at Casa Hernán Mexican Cantina was part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and focused on how small businesses can use artificial intelligence responsibly while keeping security and trust at the center of innovation.
Among the featured speakers was Dr. Kekai Namauu, founder and Chief Systems & Strategy Officer of NTI, who shared a relatable take on AI’s potential — and its limits.
“AI is like your smart dumb friend,” Dr. Namauu said, sparking laughter from the audience. “It’s powerful, but it still needs your human intelligence to guide it.”
Dr. Namauu joined Jennifer Fite, Ph.D., along with Bank of America’s Lisa Sanchez, National Business Executive, and Carlos Camacho, Business Banking Market Executive, in highlighting how local entrepreneurs can balance innovation and security as AI becomes more accessible.
The event reflected what makes San Antonio’s business community unique — its focus on collaboration, education, and trust. Conversations like these strengthen not only how businesses use technology but how they support one another in navigating change.

“Technology works best when it builds trust,” Dr. Namauu noted. “That’s how communities like ours stay strong and innovative.”
The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce continues to lead meaningful discussions that empower small businesses to grow safely and responsibly in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
